Just a heads up. Needed to replace the battery in our Fusion. Went dead after having the nav screen on, even though audio was off, while my wife set on a conference call. Therefore thought it would be a good idea to replace.

I took a look around, seen where one guy upgraded to a larger battery with some small modifications to the battery tray. I wanted to keep the same stock size battery but look for something slightly better. Ford sells a 590cc (stock is 500cc) battery that is 100% the same size as the stocker. BXT-96R-590. Worth the extra $20 to get a longer warranty and larger size of the Motorcraft Max Tough series. For what it's worth, there is also a Max Tough for the same price with only 500cc as well so it's a no brainer.

Motorcraft batteries are just johnson controls batteries. No different from interstate, advance, autozone, etc. Some are made to slightly different specs, but if you want more power just go to autozone and get a duralast platinum battery. It's powerful and has a good warranty.
That's what I have read as well. That said though, I prefer OEM which is why I have the Motorcraft.
