Hey guys,
Within the passed week my transmission (Aisin AW21) has developed this whine while driving down the road, most notable right around 2,500rpm after the fluid has warmed up. Sounds as if the pump is starving for fluid, though the transmission doesn't really slip at all. I drove it yesterday however, ran it through the gears pretty good and got it warm, parked it and checked the trans from park to reverse and drive and it was starting to clunk going into either gear. The fluid level is within the safe zone on the stick. I'd like to change the fluid and filter, but to my understanding the transmission has to be disassembled to do so? Is this correct? Has anyone else heard of or encountered this problem? I am afraid that the trans is letting go, but I just haven't been able to accept it haha Thanks!
