Lookin for a laptop guys for under $500, its for a christmas gift, a brand new $1500 serves no use....its just going to be used to surf the net, and word processing.

Atleast the nice thing is, with the Apple, you get a one year warranty. Pretty rare on a used laptop, safer than just buying it from elsewhere and getting stuck with the bills. It may be on the slower end, but for wordproccesing and web surfing should be fine.

I've got a compaq r3140us that I'm looking at getting rid of. 60gb hd, 1.5gb of ram, dvd burner, athlon 64 3200+ (I think, may be a 3000+).

Theres the exact specs, minus the fact that I have upgraded the memory to 1.5gb.

I'd like to get $600 for it. Paid about $1800 for it a year and a half ago. It does have a 3 year product replacement plan thru bestbuy should anything go wrong with it thats transferable to a new owner.

More info on the laptop: It's a Dell Latitude Model D505 - retails for $1.099.00, it's 1 1/2 years young and working very well. The only thing thats wrong (nothing wrong just cosmetics) with the laptop is there is a little wear shown where the mouse pad is. 40Gig Hard drive and 512 meg ram, with cdrw/dvd drive and wireless modem built in. Bottom price $300 plus $25 shipping Let me know if your interested .
