Yes, a good chrome polish will make the grill look like new! Also, I'm reading about folks blacking thier grills out! Doesn't look too bad either.. For those who live in more harsh winter environments this may be the way to go.

You say that it will not clean or rub out so I am assuming you have tried to polish it. If it is discolored -- no longer chrome-looking -- I would take it back to the dealer. It sounds like a bumper-to-bumper warranty item to me. That's what I would do (and will do if it happens on ours).
