The stock windshield wipers on a Fusion are around 21" for the drivers side and I think 18" for the passenger.

I went today and threw on some nice Bosch 24" for the drivers side and 20" for the passenger side.

No pics yet, but I will get some if you all want. There is still some room, so I might see if anyone makes a 25", and get a 21" for the passenger.

since we're on the topic of wipers...

Has anyone noticed the wipers on the 500? They're the low profile "rubber" one piece models without any metal parts (that freeze during the winters, and thus create streaking).

I figured Ford was moving to those instead, but my Fusion had the regular wipers...

anyone with the rubber 1 piece low profile ones on their Fusion?

anyone care to comment on their effectiveness if they have installed them as aftermarket? (my dad likes his on his 500 limited, but a buddy of mine bought some aftermarket ones for his MINI, and he says they suck...)

I wonder if the 500's are the same size.

Donald, just for you -- pictures to come tomorrow when it's daylight.

This might sound like a dumb question but why are the wipers 2 different sizes.? I drove my Fusion the other day for the first time in the rain and noticed the difference in the blades. I like the look but why did Ford do that, anyone know?

They usually do that on most cars. Just the way that the wipers are. ON my truck, I had a 24" and an 18" That's half a foot!

Swoop,
Those look like the 500 stock wipers (low profile, no metal frame)
I assume when they are off the windshield they are shaped like an arc?
what brand are they?

Oh really? Never seen the 500's wipers. I like these, though. I used them for a few swipes in the teeny rain thing we had going on earlier.

They are Bosch...top of the line whatevers.

Nope, I got them at Advance Auto, I think. They had a ton of 'em. In this model, since they have that little angled downforce thing, they have an "A" and a "B" after the inch mark. Like, 20A and 24A.

Make sure you get the "A"s.

I like those low profile wipers too. The first time I saw them was on a VW Passatt a couple of years ago. Has anyone noticed the way water pools on the plastic shroud between the hood and windshield. I'm not sure if this happens when driving in the rain (can't see it from inside), but when I wash the car, it pools up badly. I wonder about drilling a small hole in the shroud for it to drain. Any thoughts?

I recommend you not drill any holes. You may wind up with water where you don't want it, liike in your wiper motor, or cabin.

I just bought a set of Bosch Icons. Wich I do believe are the same ones you have on your car. They look identical. They ran me about $44. for the set. I used a 19 & a 24 and they work like charm.

Thanks for the great info.
