Is tinting an exterior or interior modification??? Got the windows tinted Monday on my black SE V6 to about 25%--dark enough that you can't see who's driving, but light enough that you can still see out at night. Looks really good on the black car. Also bought some chrome exhaust tips and put on the duals. Would like to post some pics, but the weather has been so bad I can't keep the car clean long enought to photograph it.

Just had My SEL tinted, 65%, Looks great (pics coming soon) The T-Fal bumps are a real pain for tint to stick to, Thanks for the heads up on that, I told them to not even try to make it stick on them, just cut it below the bumps. I've got a great Idea on taking care of the non tinted look from the outside where the T-Fal bumps are, When I get the product in the mail and on the car I will post some pics and share my "Brilliant" idea. Also 3D Carbon makes a Great rear window Spoiler that will probably cover the T-Fal bumps...but I've got a cheaper solution. CYA soon.

I saw one at a dealership that had been tinted over the dots. Didn't look that bad really .. from the outside you saw the dots and some dark grey stuff between them, below the dots it was just regular tinting ..

From the inside you couldn't see anything at all at least not from the drivers seat area .. I didn't get into the back and stare up at it cause .. that's not the view I'm gonna be having in my car! :D

the tint is lifting over the "dots" in my back window. i'm taking it back to have them trim the tint. the dots left naked looks just fine, it looked ok on m old '01 mustang GT, and that had a wider "dot" surface in the back window.

Here are some pics of The Fusion with 65% tint on back window.  From the top of the back window to where the T-Fal bumps start is 2 inches.  I told "No Limitz" (that's who did the tint job) to leave it off the T-Fal bumps.  View the pics on my Cardomain page.
I have a solution, Just waiting on delivery from ups, then I will post the pics on the solution .

Just had my windows tinted ths afternoon, unfortunately in the state of Virginia the friendly folks who like to write tickets don't like window tint too dark unless it's on their cruisers. So in order to avoid any extra aggrevation I went with the legal percentage of 50% on the front glass and 35% on the rear and back glass. I'd post pictures that I snaped today but the wireless is acting a little slow tonight. It really does change the appearance of the car but it's screaming to be lowered now. More later.

Hey 97SHOMANN,
Great Idea, Honestly I was thinking last night about something similar, but now for the purpose of hiding the dots, but just to give this website more publicity...
One question though? How did you make it stick to the windshield?

Confusion- In state of VA... do they have specific laws for tinting on the back windows as well? Cuz in California they only have the law for front passanger windows which you cant have tint at all... but everyone out here still does, where as on the back we cab do whatever the hell we want.

Legally speaking, the maxium for tint on the back side glass is 35% and 15% on the back glass as long as you have dual mirrors. I was real close to putting 20% on the back glass but my night vision is not what it use to be. As for the windshield no tint at all, the only thing you can have is a visor strip but I think the Te-Fal dots are enough for me.

I got the FusionClub sticker from our Forum Administrator.  2 stickers 2 bucks, and I noticed that there was a checkered flag design in the Logo, so I bought some Checkered flag Vinyl tape from :   http://www.identi-tape.com , it was about 20 bucks. I had some black vinyl tape that I cut to the size of the Logo and put it over the checkered flag in the center of the strip and then trimmed the entire srip with black vinyl. It looks fairly decent, nothing but compliments so far ( I was a little afraid I would go overboard and make it Gawdy lookin) But the finished product really makes the "FordFusionClub.com" Logo stand out.   All the Vinyl is on the Outside of the window. On the tint topic: front windows are 35% Back Windows are 50% .  TN doesn't have a State Inspection so You could actually get by with Limo tint here. My 93 SHO had Limo Tint and I didn't want to go that far on the Fusion cause with sunglasses on and Limo tint, I feel like Stevie Wonder instead of Stevie Mann.

I had mine tinted to 35% last week, I was concerned about the t-fal dots in the back window, but the tint has lifted off the glass just on the very top where the dots are larger. It's not loose at all, just looks a bit grey on the very top. It let go from the glass in a very even line, not even noticable if you don't know it's there. My car is Tungsten Silver and looks Great with the windows done-well worth $250.

I know this has been brought up before, but what are people doing with the rear window tint up on top of the glass where all those black dots are. Has anyone had that fixed other that covering it up on the outside?? I hae heard of using a black vinyl to cover that completely black, just want any thought out there------------------

I've got a little screct since I just picked up a tint dealership. Use blue stick glue like the kind you get at office max. You cover the area in the glue and squeegee it out. I haven't done mine yet because I'm still waiting for my shipment of tint to arrive but I'll let everybody know how it works out.
