A few minutes ago (2:15 PM CST) I noticed that there were "50 users online :: 9 registered, 0 hidden, and 41 guests!

I figure the more members our site has the better. The more people contributing (constructively of course), the better off we'd all be.

Now, some of those people are just doing research and have no interest in "joining" a car forum.

But some of them just may be like I was when I first stumbled upon this site which was TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS as to how online forums operated.
I found this site in mid Jan and was a "lurker" until my 1st post on April 13th. During those 3 months, I probably checked the site for info once or twice a day, each time straining to figure out, in each sub-forum, where I had left off from my previous visit, which posts I had read, and converting the default forum time into my own time zone to try and help figure this all out.

Imagine my surprise when, when I finally had something worth posting about and joined the forum, that everything gets converted into your own time zone and there was a nice orange marker next to every post since my last visit!
GASP! :bash: I immediately :dur: smacked my palm to my forehead when I realized how much time I'd been wasting for the past 3 months!
If I'd have known that those features were activated simply by joining up, I'd have done it probably on my 1st visit to the site!

My suggestion is to either post a notice about these facts or a link at the top of the main forum page that says "Why Join?" so that people who have no experience with message boards or enthusiast forums will understand how much easier the site is to use after you've registered!
I sure wish I had known and think that some of those "41 guests" will be doing this :bash: or this :dur: when (or if) they ever get around to joining!

The above story led us to compile this list for all you future members........

Welcome!
We're glad you've found us and share an interest in the Mazda3!

We encourage you to browse around and check everything out anonymously if that's what you'd prefer but we'd like you to know a few important details about how much easier the site is to navigate after the 2 minute registration process:

#1. (and most important) We DO NOT share your information with any advertisers or spammers. It stays here. Period.

#2. After registering all post times will appear in your own local time zone.

#3. The biggest benefit after registering is you won't have to hunt for all the new posts that have been made since your last visit. Every new post since the last time you were here will be marked with a "new post" flag to insure you don't waste time reading info you've already seen.

#4. Most of our members are very willing to share their individual experiences and advice if you have a question to which you can't find an answer. After registering you may send a "private message" (PM) to clarify info you've read here or if you have any additional questions. (You may deactivate this feature during the registration process if you don't want to hear from anyone.)

#5. After you've registered and asked a question or posted a comment, you'll receive email notifications anytime someone responds. The link in the email will take you DIRECTLY to their response.

To sum it up, the quick registration process makes the site much more "user friendly" and allows you to get information and answers much more quickly!

Enjoy your time here! Whether you're researching a potential car purchase, already have a 3 and are looking to learn more, or are simply just curious about this sporty new Mazda, we hope our 3500+ members can help add some "Zoom-Zoom" to your visit!
