Ok, Bob made me see the light and I buckled and bought a programmer.

My question is, I am looking on SCT's website and it looks like I need to download some software.

http://www.sctflash.com/downloads.php

Which ones do I need?

And is does the porgrammer plug in via serial or USB connection to my computer?

Thanks in advance!!!

You won't necessarily need an software from SCT for the Xcal2. LiveLink is the datalogging software, and LiveLoad allows you to receive tunes via email and load them to the tuner yourself rather than sending the tuner back to get new tunes.

Yeah, LiveLoad is what I primarily use, and it will allow you to receive / download updated tunes from your email box. The XCal programmer comes with a CD with all of the programs.

It uses a standard USB cable. BamaChips usually includes one in the box, along with a CD with the software you will need. Though, sometimes, you can find newer versions online. You wont even need the software unless youre datalogging or updating new tunes, but when you do, just let me know and I can walk you through the process.
