I just purchased my 06 Fusion for right around $16,000 (After taxes). The fusion had 13,000 miles on it. It's and SEL model w/ I-4 and 5 Sp manual. Leather, auto lights, auto air, 17inch wheels, 6 disc cd player, and steering wheel mounted controls. Did I get a good deal? What did you pay?

Looks like a good deal according to blue book values you paid a few grand less than blue book. I've seen a few fusions selling around here for around what you paid and I believe they've all been 4 bangers like yours.

I just got a screaming deal, had to buy the car out of state but I got a tungsten 06 SE I4 MTX with ABS for $11,750 with 5700 miles. I wasn't even looking to buy a car but couldn't turn this deal down.

Ebay Motors?
Before I bought my '06 used (pre-owned sounds so much better, doesn't it? :)), I researched Fusions for about a month, the only time I found a price like what you paid, with that low of mileage was on ebay. And all of those in that range had been wrecked and repaired; and an alarming number of those had salvage titles. One was pretty funny, description said "reason for salvage title is two scratches on the doors that were repaired, car has been well taken care of". When I ran the VIN, it had been in two wrecks, one a "roll-over collision with air bags deployed, warranty voided".
Of course, the seller claimed he had no idea. :x
Anyways, '06 SE, V6, 6 spd automatic, Charcoal Beige, light stone cloth int., Alloy wheels, ABS, TC, tinted windows, 6 CD changer/mp3, rear spoiler, Ford Quality Certified extended warranty, 14.5k miles, $15,800 before tax, from local Ford dealership. Bought on 4/3/07.

Bump.

Anyone else??

Curious to know what different models are going for in different areas.
Might also help a prospective buyer/seller know what to expect.

$33,600 Canadian, MSRP was $35,070. built in Feb. '07, bought in March '07. Sorry, didn't see the "used" part until after. Oh well, these prices will make yours look even better.

Just out of curiousity, why are cars so expensive in Canada? Just surprising, especially given the recent strength of the Canadian dollar (or relative weakness in the US dollar).

I have no idea, I've wondered that for years. It pisses me off. It's not only cars, everything costs too damn much up here. NAFTA=B.S.

What sort of taxes do you pay on new car purchases? Can't imagine that being the difference, but ya never know.

Those prices are BEFORE taxes! There's a 6% GST (goods and services tax) and 6% PST (provincial sales tax) on top of that. On higher end cars, there's a luxury vehicle tax and on some vehicles a gas guzzler tax. It's totally insane.

Paid 13,880 for an new I4 Auto in April 06. I drove to Las Vegas to buy it because here in Northern AZ they wanted about 17.5K. I was originally looking to buy a new Corolla because I didnt think I could afford a Fusion. Glad I picked up a Vegas Paper. Fortunately I was able to pay cash.

Payed $18000 in June for a full loaded V6 Milan Premier (06). Perfect condition with about 20000mi. 2 full years left on the warranty. I do not drive much (@8000 mi/Yr) and keep my cars 7 to 9 years so a one or 2 year old Vehicle has always been perfect buy for me.

I bought a 2006 SEL V6 with 36k miles on it about 3 weeks ago. It is literally loaded with every option available. Yes, I know its out of warranty but for the price and reliability rcord so far, I wasnt too concerned. I found the car on ebay, asking for $15,600. It was at a reputable buick dealer about 30 minutes from my home so I went to check it out. Looked prety good, great condition save for a cracked rear tail light (got a new one off ebay for $55). Anywho, to cut to the chase. Got to the dealer, they wanted $16,495... got it for $14,800... $15,900 after taxes, plate transfer, fees, etc.
