Just purchased a 2011 Ford Fusion SE with Vehicle Theft Protection. Not sure if I should have done it or not but I did. I cannot change the existing PIN code to one I would like. I have followed the directions I received on a little card but cannot get it to change. It does work with the existing code. I can also put it into valet mode and then take it off of valet mode and arm it. All of that seems to be working fine but I just cannot change the PIN. Any suggestions? Did I make a big mistake in getting this system?

Hi Fordsters. :wavey: You do not mention what type or brand system you have had installed, who installed it etc.. Different systems operate in various manners, have various features, are programmed differently and have their own quirks.
Essentially, your best course of action (in my opinion) would be: If you are following the directions correctly and the system will not accept your PIN programming, your best bet would be to return to the Dealer (or whatever shop installed the system) and ask them to help you program it and check it for proper installation if it will not program correctly.
Sorry I could not be of more help, but sometimes the easiest way to get something corrected is by the shop that installed it.
Good luck.
