For the first time, I decided to try out the "L" gear. What exactly does it do? When I tried it, I had a very light foot and it took 1st through 3rd gears all the way passed 5000RPM before shifting. Then when I slowed down, it would downshift into 1st really rough. It makes me not want to try it anymore.


Is this normal?

Only use "L" if you're driving UP or DOWN a VERY steep grade or road, otherwise just keep the Tranny in "D".

I USED THE "L" WHEN IM GOIN KINDA FAST AND NEED TO SLOW DOWN W/O PRESSIN THE BRAKES.. OFTEN WHEN I SEE THE POLICE.. I USED TO DO IT IN MY CONTOUR ALSO BUT I WOULD USE "2" INSTEAD OF "L"
