I noticed that when I start the car with my seatbelt on, it makes no start-up noise, however, I usually put my belt on after I start my car and was wondering if there was a way to turn off the starting sound completely?

Hi icon. :wavey: It sounds as though you are discussing the "BeltMinder" seat-belt warning chime. If that is the case, yes it can be turned off. Like many questions concerning our vehicles, the directions to disable the warning chime are located in the Owners Manual.

That being said, for the safety of those who may use or ride in your car, I would recommend against turning it off.

Whatever you decide to do, good luck.

Yea, it's definitely the BeltMinder thing, and I found out how to disable/silence it. Thanks again.

Hi BlackFusion. :wavey: The page number for the instructions to disable/enable the "BeltMinder" function is listed in the Owners Manual Index, under "BeltMinder".

If you purchased used and don't have a copy, you can download the PDF version here: www.flmowner.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/IdentifyVehiclePage&BackToLogin=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&ord=91325628 In fact, I would recommend downloading the PDF version even if you have your hard-copy. I actually use it more than the hard-copy.

Good luck.

Now THERES an idea! I never understood why they would only put the chime on the drivers side to annoy them, if the passenger wants to sit seatbelt less, annoy them, not me! Then again, I just do a seatbelt check and they usually get the idea after they bounce off the dash

As rude as it is, I've been slugging them in the arm to hopefully send my message. Can't really do that to my gf so I just pull over every time lol.

The first thing I disable in any car (this is why I'm preferring old cars and non-smart technology, it's no longer smart, it's just naggy) is anything that makes noise. I don't need to be summoned or nagged. Here's a good video on how to disable the chime! I just needed to know what it was nagging you to do. Why would you have your seatbelt on BEFORE you turn on your car? That's dangerous lol.
