Just recieved my new mats, set of 4, the material is the same cheap crap , all they did is add a plastic/rubber mat to the driver side mat (only) where the drivers heel would rest providing some protection forthe mat.
It looks ok, its slighty raised from the mat and I don't thnk it will come off to easily.
This is going to be one of those grey areas I can see it now. The tsb for the floor mats recognizes that there is a problem with the mats and FOMOCO is willing to pay for replacements. The TSB does state (as do they all) that they a re covered within the limits of the new vehicle warranty which when interpreted means either within the 36/60 basic warranty or as some dealers may assume the 12/20 warranty which is for maintenance and wear items. Now wipers, alignments, wheel balance, frictional items, these are some of the items listed in the warranty and policy manual as wear & maintenance items. No where are floor mats listed as a wear item, in fact upholstery is covered under basic warranty which if we include floor mats would be covered under 36/60 against "abnormal" wear. Unless specifically deemed 12/20 items I would have to say 36/60 on the mats.
