I can't find 5sp MTX info on the 3.0. Maybe it isn't available?

Are these going to be Mazda transaxles or Ford Transaxles?

For the 2.3L MTX, I dont recognize that final drive as one that has been used on other applications of the MTX-75 (FOcus, Cougar, Contour)

sshhhhh that answer would require actual intelligence... so don't look at me ;)

Honestly I don't know. It would not surprise me at all if it used the Mazda transaxle, but you know way more than me in that regard, Nikolas.

These are the specs for the 2.3L Mazda6 Manual Transmission....

Looks pretty much the same.....

Ah, look at it that way... yeah it just comes down to rounding differences. Looks like pretty good evidence to me. Once it gets closer to release I'm sure we'll be able to get our hands on more official info sources.

They need to use the 6 speed auto-manual out of the Mazda 6 is what they need to do.

They do in the Milan, Zephyr and V6 Fusion.

Oh, I don't know if they actually include the manual shift option or not. It's the same transmission though, as far as I know. Manual shift is pretty stupid anyway... I have it on my 6 - I thought it was cool for about 2 days before I realized it's impossible to do anything useful with, since it shifts so slowly and won't let you do anything stupid.

Your right, it is nothing like slipping the clutch a bit and letting it rip like a bat out of hell. But if i can remember right, when i got to beat the hell out of one for a half hour , in the manual mode i think it allows you to take the RPM's up higher. Could be useful in engine braking, but not anymore then a regular automatic.

I'm not sure how the Fusion is tuned, but the 6 takes it right to redline in auto anyway. THe main problem is that it's SLOW to shift in manual mode, so you have to think a couple seconds ahead... which basically makes it useless.

Test drove another one last week and it does take it to the redline(well, i think 250rpm before) but damn it goes pretty good. After driving it i think i can do with out the auto/manual.

I really want someone to come out with some high stall converters for us. A 3000 stall would be awesome
