I know the transmission pan as a drain plug but what about the transfer case / torque converter? Would any of those have a drain plug?

Only asking cause my dads 2001 F150 truck we changed out the filter and fluid and well, just wondered if the fusion sports have that. Anyone?

I don't know which Fusion you have... only that it's a Sport trim.

While it doesn't apply to you, I can verify that the FNR5 transmissions do have an internal filter. It's the large black part..

Looking at RockAuto, both the 6F35 and 6F50 transmissions use an internal filter, Motorcraft Part Number FT193

Again, the filter is only accessible by draining the transmission and removing the pan.

Both the Aisin AW21 & the 6F35 transmissions have a drain plug & fill plug to service the transmission fluid; the FNR5 does not unfortunately. Ford recommends fluid change every 60k or 48 months; you can change earlier if you think the transmission isn't shifting quite right. If you have any CEL or trans codes I'd definitely take to an ASE certified tech to further troubleshoot. Good luck!

Your transmission (FNR5) does not have a drain plug, but it is still possible to change the fluid (and recommended). You need to place a drain plan underneath, then disconnect the transmission fluid cooler return line from the transaxle (the closest line to the drivers side). Direct the end of the hose into the pan to drain by running the engine at idle.

The transfer case does not have a drain plug. To drain the fluid from your transfer case, you need to remove it completely. After that, you'd want to remove the cover.

The differential
does have a drain plug. There is a filler plug hole where you can remove/refill the lubricant with a suction pump. There is also a gasket behind it. If the gasket is bad, you want to remove the entire diff cover (which is an alternative method to drain the diff).

Well, my car is a 2012 sport at 36800 miles. Had it since Oct 2012 and today is March 8, 2015. Probably at end of the year I'll do the transmission flush and new fluid at the dealer. I ain't the type to push fluids per what the dealer recommends. Doesn't hurt to change stuff early, even though my Fusion has the oil life percentage monitor -- IDC what the life is at, every 5k I've been doing the oil change. Back last month, Jan 2015, did a radiator drain flush and new coolant, new front and rear brake pads with front rotors turned and new brake fluid (DOT 4). I wanna flush the steering wheel fluid since that is only trans fluid Mercon V, just remove the hose and have my dad or bro turn it on while I pour new stuff in so it flushes the old stuff out.
