I went and test drove an '08 with the sport appearance package. Plastic was still on the seats. It was an SE model with cloth/red inserts and Stick shift. Overall, I was pleased, but, not totally wowed by it. Pickup was decent and interior was o.k. I also test drove an '07 SEL with Auto tranny, 4 Cylinder. Seem to drive smoother. Also, the SEL had no sunroof and the '08 SE did. I felt the sunroof model had a lower roof, which after reading online, I think it does. Anyway, overall it looks nice and drives o.k. Now, for my big issue..I want to lease a Fusion with 0 down. So, We built an SEL '08 with options and Stick Shift. Pricing I got was Invoice + $500 which I thought was reasonable. A 15K mile/2 yr was a whopping $418 per month. 15K mile /39 month was $357. I really want a two year, but, that is a big payment for a 22K car..seems high!
On a side note, I like the escape also. Lease prices on the '08 Limited Escape was about $30 higher per month than the payments above.
Anyone else leasing with figures comparable to above?

I wouldnt pay that much.Thats actually an accurate leasing rate when there's no promotion/deal going on but Id shop around and/or wait until the are running specials. I leased my $36k Zephyr(using ford discount) for 2 years(12k miles) with 1000 down for 400 after taxes.

I actually drove two yesterday both SE's I ended up purchasing the SE V6 with the sport package which is a 100% different than the 4cyl model. Its road manners are better, and it has better seats... Once you drive the V6 chances are you wont be much interested in the 4 cyl.

I just bought the '08 I4 with the sport appearance package. Black on black leather, 18" edge rims and black chrome grille. Still don't have pics yet, no time. I post them as soon as I get some.
