holy...shit. Talk about a sleeper. This thing puts up better numbers than the 2010 mustang gt! Now if only they could package one of the engines into the Fusion Sport...

well for 2011 the fusion will have a 270 hp 2.5l ecoboost. not quite the same numbers but the fusion and the 4cyl are lighter so the 2 cars would run pretty close.

365HP stock is crazy enough, I wanna see what happens they the tuner companies get a hold of it.
Imagine if they dropped the EcoBoost 3.5L into the Fusion. Subie drivers will pee their pants.

You'd be looking at 400hp easy...my god, i just realized the implications of that number...
I dont even need the 3.5 ecoboost in my car. The 2.5 will do fine. Itd still make an easy 350hp. Although I do much rather prefer the sound of a 6 cyl to a 4... hmmmmm lol
Obviously we all like Ford here or we wouldn't own one. Who, outside of us would spend 38k on a taurus? I don't see the car selling well..I hope I'm wrong. If I had 38k I'd be placing an order now but seems a little high.
I like the front of it, and the power sounds awesome, but the rear just doesn't do it for me. Also the price is too high for me. I don't think I'll ever be able to own a $38,000 car.

I personally know a couple people that are looking at this car seriously. Even if they dont sell many, thats fine. You dont see many SRT8 version of the chryslers either. There is still the regular 25k dollar Taurus that looks very similar that many people will purchase. That will be their bread and butter money maker. This is just icing on top of the cake. For what its worth, my car cost 36k sticker and I bought it at 24 yrs old. If you save up a little money and have a Ford discount, its really not that much money at all. You are talking about a 400 dollar a month payment on a lease. Thats very doable for many people.
I really like it too, but I seriously think I could take a third of that money and make swap out the powertrain in my Fusion and lay down 350hp.... I just can't wrap my head around almost $40K for a Taurus.
I guarantee if it wasn't named "taurus" you all would buy it. I bet if it were a Lincoln "something" yeah, that price would be so bad. Such as an Acura TL...if it were a Honda Accord..noone would pay nearly as much. Anyway, I love it! Wish they had it in a stick . They did a great job. Besides, I bet you can get one for liek 29k with a few thousands miles on one. That price is even better lol.

Daaam. Maybe this will be the car I shoot for instead of a Challenger. 4 doors and 365 HP sound like a winning combo for a daily driver family car.

the challenger sucked. i went and drove an RT 6sp manual the other night and was not impressed at all. All i can say is that it is a damn big car. it is just huge. Now on topic. i do nto think ford would ever do this car just because it would beat the mustang. i do not think they would put out a family 4 door that would outrun there flagship sports car. but that is just my thinking.

I would hope Ford wouldn't have their Taurus SHO beat the Mustang. From a business standpoint, it wouldn't make much sense.
Anyway, I like the look of the new Taurus and the SHO nameplate is definitely nice (since I owned one), but it's bit big for my tastes. Either way, I hope it sells well for Ford; they need it.
I out ran a 95 mustang GT in my 89 SHO.( RIP after i sold it the guys 17 year old wrecked it) I know my parents are serious about the new Taurus SHO It's a little bigger and it's fits in there price range, besides it will look good next to their 97 SHO. And my 95 SHO.

Hennessey is making a "performance" version of it too... Should be wicked fast, if you ever get it back
