Just because ford built it, doesn't mean we are going to see it.
As the topic title says, twin turbo D35 fusion spotted.

This is true but Ford has already said they were going to build it. when they came out with realease for the Ecoboost engine, they said it was going in just about every vehicle. They cant afford for it not to because of the new Cafe laws. Ive also heard from several people that work at ford that it is indeed going to be an option in the car. I dont think its coming until the redesign though. So probably like 2010 or something.
By the way, im talking about a 2.0liter turbo fusion. Thats what they were actually doing the suspension and track testing at their ground on about 2 months ago. The turbo V6 is going in the flex/MKS/Taurus, etc.
P.S. Why are we both up at 5 am. lol. Well 5am here at least.
I hope it happens. Consider me a bit skeptical. Researching news for a year, and 90% of what I would learn from quality sources just went down the tubes. I think my original point wasn't my lost confidance in ford(although I have lost a little) but that Ford gets its share of bad luck, which takes green light production back to vaporware. Like the 2008 Hybrid Fusion that was promised, raved about, and then pushed back to the 2009 that was supposed to be released by now, and still what? No updates on it, like a dead project that was pushed back for the next gen.
I've seen plenty of vehicles running around at Ford that never made production. A 4.0L SOHC in a LS, a turbo 4 in a SVT Fusion, a V6 diesel in a 1st gen Expedition, a few 500s with the Volvo/Yamaha V8 and even a Town Car with the Aston Martin V12!
I think the I4 turbo Fusion is more likely to see the showroom than any of those, but it might still be a while.
correct me if i'm wrong but why, why put in a 2.0 when the current on already get good mileage doesn't it sound better to just leave the current engine and add the ecoboost to it, i feel that adding the 2.0 will make the car get no much better fuel economy keeping in consideration that with the 2.0 the engine will be working harder than the 2.3 or a 2.5.
I see everyones point here. We really dont know exactly what ford is going to give us until it happens. And we dont know when we are going to get it or exactly which vehicles will recieve it. Although we are sure that Ecoboost engines are on their way. I hope the Fusion gets it sooner rather than later(or never). I really dont like the gas mileage of the 3.5 or 3.7(17 and 24 in the new Mazda 6 with a 6 speed trans is gabage IMO) and the CD3 platform is the sportiest platform Ford has other than the Mustang.

I really dont know but id have to assume that the 2.0 turbo 4 had the best combination of gas mileage(small displacement) and power(turbo) in their testing. But who really knows the final specs on these ecoboost engines. Anything is liable to change before we actually see the production version in a car.
