Hello all,

I have been lurking here for a while now while my Fusion SE is on order. I would like to know if anyone here has the sunroof option and are there any head room issues?

Regards

Sat in one at the showroom. Didn't bump my head, and I'm 5'10"

Wasn't wearing a cowboy hat, and don't have big hair so your milage may vary! :)

Sunroof good stuff: Adds a drop down sun glasses holder at the front where the mirror, and sunroof control is.
Sunroof bad stuff: Moves the interior light to the front of the car where the mirror, and sunroof control is.

Thank-You, and yes I did notice the linterior light gets move to the front with no lighting for the rear seats. A stand alone light for the rear would have been nice. I did sit in one with the sunroof but didn't take good notes on whether or not the lower roof due to the sunroof would make one feel claustraphobic after driving for a while.

In 2-3 weeks I should know for myself as my Lt.Tundra Clearcoat SE V6 with:
SELECTED EQUIPMENT

Wheels: 16 in Aluminum
Radio: Premium CDx6/MP3 w/6-Speakers
Enhanced Safety Package
Power Moonroof
Medium Light Stone w/Cloth Front Bucket Seats
Light Tundra Clearcoat

should be arriving (-:

I am 6' 3" with a sunroof, and I just lean the seat back and I am ok. I still have good control and posture for driving since most of my height is the torso, so the lean only gives me a few inches.

My wife and I were test driving 4cyl w/manual seats and (she is 6'0 I'm 6'1) we had issues with the sunroof and head room. But when we drove one with power leather seats, we were fine, those seats had us about 2" lower than the manual seat in the tester car. Problem solved. We ended up getting a fully loaded SEL V6. and we are really happy about it in every way. :blue:

I am 6'1" and the moonroof wouldn't work. I had the seat lowered all the way and I had to recline it way too much to be comfortable. It was hard to give up though. They should have figured that out in designing the car!!!! The Five Hundred is the same way. You lose avg. of 2.5" of headroom with a moonroof.

Thankfully Ford made the sunroof an option. I'm 6'1" with a longer torso/shorter legs. I can't sit in any car with a sunroof except the 5 series BMW. So my two car choices in the entire universe of cars were a five series or a fusion. Guess which one I got?

The sunroof takes out about 2 inches on most cars, and more importantly, it takes out two inches in the rear as well. So the driver compensates by recliing the seat back, further cramping the already cramped rear seat occupant. Now they loose headroom and leg room.

You can keep the sunroof, and the leaks, and I'll keep the headroom and the $800! :klavergreg:

The other day .. put down all the windows, and opened the sunroof ..

Was the next best thing to a convertible. :)

Back to head-room issues .. I did notice now that I've had my car for awhile that I do notice the sunroof headroom isssues.

I'm 5'10, and I liike to sit up high. I can't put the seat all the way up without brushing my head against the ceiling, so I put it down about an inch or so from full up. On bad hair days (when I get the Alfalfa cow lick thing going on) its annoying to feel the sunroof wiggling my hair. Though, its a good reminder to stop in the restroom at work to water down, and brush back my hair for a neater appearance.

Sunroofs are a tease anyway!! What ever happened to T-Tops in cars??
I loved them in a couple Mustang GT's I had in the early to mid 80's....T-Tops or T-Bar Roofs or Targa Tops almost feel like a convertable without the expense of buying a new top every 5 years or so and the headroom worries are gone too!
I say bring back the T-Top!!! :D

I had a sunroof in a previous vehicle and it leaked alot.  There is nothing like a cold shower first thing in the morning when you hit the brakes for the first time and all that cold water comes splashing down your back.  I will never own a vehicle with a sunroff again.  Just my 2 cents.    :dhl:

I'm 6' and have no problems with the sunroof at all. Plus, I still have my sunglass holder/light above the mirror AND a light above the rear seats with a switch for each rear passanger.

You mean to tell me that the Milian has rear lighting? :rtfm: My car is so dark in the back at night.
