To make a loooong story short, bought it, not gonna use it and can't return it. I paid 1505 after tax. I never removed it from the box, it was purchased BRAND NEW on tuesday, 4 April. I dunno what to ask for it, just trying to minimize my loss at this point. reply or PM any offers. BTW this is the new unit (06 release) that has seperate dvd and cd slots, navigation, touchscreen, cd-r/w/dvd/mp3/dvr+r compatibility, ipod control, backup camera input, all the bells and whistles, plus it's a double din unit that won't leave a big ugly space in your dash.

Bleh do not need navigation I know my way around and do not need to give the local thieves another reason to bust into mycar. What I want is a unit like that which pulls completely out of the car--I would take it whenever I left the vehicle and no theft issue.

Good luck selling it man.

I used to have a unit just like that! found it at a flea market for 10 bucks back in '98. It was a single din cd player (this was before all the mp3/ipod/dvd stuff) and the shroud installed into the dash and all the wiring was hooked up thru the shroud. Then the unit slid in and out of the shroud, it even had a handle that folded down into the lower half of the unit when not needed. I thought it was kida cool but I never made a habit out of removing it since it was in a 200 dollar car.

Couple of things:

Why did you buy it, and have the sudden change of heart?

Why wont the manufacturer take it back? All the money you spent, you were not concerned about the return policy?

I am interested however a skeptical person.

Thanks

Re: FS: Brand new in box Eclipse AVN5500, w/receipt

okay,
well i originally was gonna buy the iva-w200 from alpine. I had pre-paid for it, and was awaiting its release. after the second time they pushed back the release date, i got impatient, got a refund on my alpine pre-pay and went and bought this. That very same day when i got back from buying this unit, I went on the net and saw that some retailers in cali had the alpine unit for sale. Since that was the unit i had wanted all along, I went and bought that one and had it shipped overnite to me, and figured i'd just return the eclipse to the store. the store i bought it from, I have been in there numerous times over the years and i was familiar with most of the guys, but never had i looked at the bottom of the receipt. When i got there, they pointed out to me that they don't give refunds, only defective product exchange and store credit. Didn't want store credit so i kept it, figuring i'd get at least 1300 plus shipping for it, which is still over a 200 dollar loss for me but that's better than store credit IMO. I understand skepticism, but if you ask some of the other guys around here that i've bought/sold things to/from, you'll see i'm an o.k. guy. Rage, axismod3, and jhershorin immediately come to mind (i apologize if i shouldn't have thrown your names' in my post), plus i have over 400 feedback on ebay (same username). I was just trying to save minimize my losses and avoid the 30+ dollars in ebay fees by selling here first. Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions.
