my car is a 07 sel, the radio has 3 connector on the back of it, one is the antenee, one is the main harness(the one for the speakers, power, steering wheel controls) and then there is one in between them. it is maybe a 6 or 8 pin connector, it has only two wires going to it. one wire is purple with a orange stripe and the other is gray with a orange stripe. Sorry dont have any pictures, really dont feel like taking the radio out again. My car does not have the audio jack inside the center console, but the radio has a aux button, i was wondering if this connector was for the audio jack.
thanks for any help

i have the 06 and i just put in a new head unit...i'm PRETTY sure the middle connector is for the steering wheel controls...I have a wiring harness that goes to the head unit and the pin-outs on the factory harness don't have anything for steering wheel controls on it.

It's not the steering wheel controls (They are pins 18/19). Here is a list of the wiring on the 24 pin connector.
Pin1 - Blue/Red - Voltage supplied at all times
Pin2 - Green - Accessory Delay Relay Switched Output
Pin3 - N/A - Not Used
Pin4 - N/A - Not Used
Pin5 - Violet/Black - Antenna Power
Pin6 - N/A - Not Used
Pin7 - N/A - Not Used
Pin8 - White - Left Front Speaker +
Pin9 - Brown/Green - Left Rear Speaker +
Pin10 - Brown/White - Right Rear Speaker +
Pin11 - White/Violet - Right Front Speaker +
Pin12 - White/Orange - Right Front Speaker -
Pin13 - Black/Blue - Ground
Pin14 - N/A - Not Used
Pin15 - Gray/Brown - Voltage Supplied in Start (Overload Protection)
Pin16 - N/A - Not Used
Pin17 - N/A - Not Used
Pin18 - Gray/Yellow - Audio Steering Wheel Switch Signal
Pin19 - Blue/White - Audio Steering Wheel Switch Return
Pin20 - N/A - Not Used
Pin21 - White/Brown - Left Front Speaker -
Pin22 - Brown/Yellow - Left Rear Speaker -
Pin23 - Brown/Blue - Right Rear Speaker -
Pin24 - N/A - Not Used

I have tried tracing those two wires in my service DVD. I cannot tell exactly what they are or what they do. They are marked MS Can +/- and go to the "Module Communications Network"

My DVD is only for 2006. My guess is that small connector is for the speed control volume and it does have something to do with the Aux function (either aux input, Sat. radio etc.) I do know that the aftermarket Aux input connectors plug into the radio there.

The wires marked MS Can +/- are for communication between the different modules on the car. If you hook a scanner up to the car, those are the wires that the scanner uses to communicate to the modules.

Someone else posted this in a previous thread. It's a pdf of the wire connectors that should be for the Audiophile system. I have a 2007 without the AUX jack, also, and I really want to add one. I've been trying to have the people at Ford dealership help me to get the factory Ford one, but I keep getting a lot of run-around because it sounds like no one knows what I am talking about. If anyone figures this out, please let us all know.
