Here is the info on the Mazda6. I'm sure it's the same for stock:

Stock – 23mm Front, 19mm Rear

You know, Racing Beat's Rear Sway is 27 mm. I'm going to get one of theirs and a set of their endlinks to compliment it.

i just checked them out and did not realize they were just as cheap as the Progress bar. I need to call them to find out how much shipping is. I am thinking about skipping the TB spacer and going with the sway bar instead. Then also getting the Strut tower bar and Springs. Since the front plows already not sure i want to get the front bar. I would rather the rear end come out a little first.

FWD Fusions have a 24mm front bar and 16mm rear. MKZ has a 25mm front and 18mm rear. AWDs have 25mm front and 19mm rear (not the same rear bar shape so they don't compare directly).

That is great info thanks. Should be a big diff going from 16mm rear bar to 27mm if i go with the Racing Beat. If the shipping is not over the top i think i will. $130 for a rear bar is not bad at all.

This subject always brings up alot of 'funny' numbers. All literature that I have some of which is found on page 18 of the 2007 Fusion sales brochure shows the following....

Stabilizer bars...

24-mm front
16-mm rear (17-mm rear on V6)

FWD or AWD are never mentioned

OK, I've thought many times about a rear sway bar, but I haven't thought so much about a front sway bar. Does anyone hav eany opinion as to whether or not a front sway bar OR a strut tower brace is the way to go here?

at least for right now i am not going with the front bar. the front bar is going to cause the front end to push more. I want the back end to come around and follow the front end so that is why i am only going with the rear bar and more than likely the strut bar. Strut bar is not going to help a lot i am more getting it to dress up the engine bay a little.

Slater,

I just might wait for you to buy the Racing Beat rear sway bar and install it before I take the plunge. Can you pic it up when you get it please?

Thanks,

ya thats not a problem. i hope to order it along with springs and strut bar here at the end of the month. i have installed lots of rear sway bars as i have been autocrossing and road racing for many years now. The rear is the one that always helps on autocrossing because they are normally tright turns and you do not want to plow at all. At the SCCA national most people are removing the front bar because the course is so slick that they are plowing thru turns

Well, and that's exactly what I'm looking for - a turn that is more stiff and lets the rear end come around. I am pretty sure I'm going to buy that Progress sway bar, but I just want to see it on someone's Fusion before I bite. Thanks dude.

i want the steeda bar but i am going to get an e-bay one from the mazda6. since most people say it is all for show and does not do anything on the fusion i figured i would get a cheap $20 first and see what it does.
