Hi there,

I just purchased a sirius radio and I'm wondering how I should go about mounting the antenna. I noticed that on the Fusion, there is no rubber molding to hide the cable under. How have other people ran the antenna wire? Do they make some kind of insulation or rubber molding that I can stuff in between the rear window and the body of the car? Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks!

Before you go too far, you might look into just mounting it to the Dash. I mounted the one on our Focus on the roof, and on our Taurus I ran it through the dash and placed it on top (at base of windshied). Belive it or not the Taurus gets better reception than the Focus. So when our Fusion arrives, I plan on mounting the antenna on the dash again.

When I first put the XM in my Milan I had the antenna mounted on the roof at the back window. This antenna failed for whatever reason I replaced the antenna, which I left on the left side of the dashboard, up against the windshield, and have had great reception.

I would suggest tyring this first. If it doesn't work then move it outside.

One thing that's a pain with these cars is there is no trim around the window to tuck the wire under. I wound up using 3M window stripping (like a strip of putty) and sealing the wire in. I pushed it down with a screw driver so you can't see it.
