The Mercury Milan website says that remaining oil life should be displayed on the message center. I have tried cycling through the INFO and SETUP buttons and I can't find remaining oil life. I have this feature on my Mercury Monterrey.

Can anyone provide some info?

That's interesting. I have a Milan and it doesn't list remaining oil life in my message center either.

I went to Mercury service department today. It also puzzled two service guys. They said they would investigate and get back to me.

I got an answer from the Mercury service guy. He said there is no display that shows percent remaining oil life, like on some other vehicles. However, he said the message center display will show "CHANGE OIL SOON" and then after some time period state "CHANGE OIL NOW".

So has anyone that does their own oil changes all the time ever had this display come up in a Milan or Fusion and had to reset it somehow?

I change my oil in 5,000 miles intervals and have not seen any type of warning or notification.

I change my own oil since day one and have never had a message come up.  How would it know when you change the oil - there is no reset button that I know of - unless when you get the message you hold the "reset" button.  By the way - I have 15k so I should have seen it by now if there was one.

Chris,

We have an SEL AWD '07 Fusion built after Labor Day. No remaining oil life readout in the message center. That seems like a pretty dumb option to begin with. People change oil or have it changed at different intervals. I have always had my changed more frequently than the recommended interval. Boz

Tire pressure? Are you sure? What is TPMS?

TPMS, is tire pressure monitoring service. Or system. The light is in the message center, it's an idiot light, not a message. Anyway, it's an icon of a tire as you would look at the end, not the side -- and it has an exclamation point in the middle. Cant find anything in the book, but it's on the dash.
