I have a black SEL and the rear bumber is wavy.  if you liik at the bodyline where the bumper and decklid meet you may notice that the bumbercover is not stuck to the inside.  Mine is wavy and if you push it down it sticks for a second than pops back up.  I have seen muliple Fusions with this issue and figured the owners don't notice it or dont care.  I have had other people notice it and ask me about it.  Ford replace the bumper today and the new one is the same.
Im I the only one who thinks the body lines are important.  I dont see any other complaints one the net.
Just curious.

Re: Rear bumber on Fusion is bad

Yea,
I went to the dealership and looked at the cars on the lot and noticed it on 3 or about 12 cars. Other people have noticed it before I did but most of the cars on the lot were fine.

 Ran out to my Fusion (Silver frost metalic) and took a really good look at the rear bumper.. Nothing wavy here..?? I have an appointment for first oil change later this week at the dealership (I got 3 free oil changes! on purchase) This is a huge Ford dealer, I am going to walk the lot and look at all the Fusions....

I just ran out and confirmed that mine is OK as well (I definitly would have noticed before). Mine is a SE with I-4. Maybe it's a problem with the bumpers with the dual exhaust for the V6. (PS I got LIFETIME free oil changes at my dealer)

I think the bumper cover has some sort of laminate or double stick tape in it and the heat and humidity of the South(Louisiana) may be causing it to seperate. The first bumper was popping up on the right side and the new one is poping up in the middle. Most I have seen were popping up on the right side on the lot.
I Dont know mabey I am just over anilizing my car.
Thanks

That was for camsdad, who said in his above post that his dealer gave him free oil changes for the life of the car. I just wanted to point out that some dealers use el cheapo bulk oil and I'd be surprised if they use the good stuff (Motorcraft sem-syn 5W20) every 5k.

Its a Ford North America build feature. Fit and finish is not a prority. And your question "Im I the only one who thinks the body lines are important" Ford would like to think so.

IMO the only 2 vehicles Ford has done a good or better then usual build job on are the Five Hundred and Freestyle.
