Hi, Guys:

I experienced something disturbing me a lot recently, I have a lovely 2006 Fusion I4, and recently in the very cold morning (-15~-20 degree Celsius), when I first time started my car and turned around, I could clearly heard some rattle from some where under the hood, the rattle just kept2 or 3 seconds and disappeared.

After dirving 20 or 30 minutes on highway, I tried to turn around, the rattles disappeared, but next morning
it happened again.

Does anybody have the similar experience like me ?

Thanks,

Jerry

I noticed this morning (0400) a clicking coming from the dash/hood of my Milan (I4 - 5spd).

I noticed after about 25 minutes of driving, it may have been there before, but this is when I noticed it. Turning the HVAC on and off did not change anything. The clicking did seem to come and go though. The air temperature was a few degrees below 0 F.

I noticed the same thing with temps below 0 Degrees Farenheit. I do not notice it when I'm driving though. Only when I start it and let it idle. It must be related to the cold temps...I know my own body doesn't perform normally in these temps either.

Do you mean you heard the noise when you had the steering wheel all the way against the lock? At lock is the highest load on the power steering pump, so when the fluid is so cold it could be cavitating the pump. Just keep the steering wheel about 10 degrees off lock and see if it doesn't prevent the noise.
