Hello,

I have a quick question for those 07 owners with automatic transmissions esspecially the 6 speed version about the shifter. Do you have an overdrive button?? Any options in shifter selections other than R,N,D,L ??

If anyone has any idea how to add an overdrive button or anything to give more choices other than R,N,D,L?? Anyway to tell tranny to hold current gear?? I don't need manu-matic; I just need an overdrive button to allow me to select 5 gear when on highway for passing. or a way to keep current gear sellected.

Thanks
Peter

More than likely so they can tow something. Since you never ever want to tow in OD

Not unless you want to cheese your tranny!

doing some google searching the fusion/milan/MKZ(Zephyr) all use an asin 6 speed auto. That transmission is japanese and is the same one as the toyota camary/ avalon. BUT the Edge/MKX uses a ford/GM co-venture 6-speed called 6F. I think the saturn Aura uses that.

http://www.thefusionsource.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=769&pid=3585&st=0&#entry3585

So I don't know If i should celebrate that our trans are japanese build and should have toyota reliability? Or weep that our Trans shift pattern is highly unlikely to be improved b/c in 2008-2009 all ford 6 speeds will be the ford/GM one. That will also explain why we can't tow anything.

Link on the transmissions: I am not sure which one we got.
http://www.aisin-aw.co.jp/en/02products/02at/01ff/index.html

The torque ratting for the TF-60SN is 320 N/m or 236 ft-lbs according to:
http://www.ricardo.com/engineeringservices/transmission.aspx?page=productsalreadybenchmarked
That will make that trans highly unlikely to be in the MKZ or with 3.5 v6 or the camary v6. So I got a feeling we got the larger transmission or TF80-SC. Unfortounatley, I could find any more info on it.

Either way I highly believe that the max torque for the 6 speed is around 270 ft-lbs or tq level of the new camary v6s. Anyone knows any more info on the transmission?
