I went and picked up the new SEL that I ordered today. I got the car for my wife, I'll be getting the mods for me. I ordered it with all the options, No Nav. I can read a map. After the endless Crap at the dealership We were able to go for a nice ride. I am very pleased with the power and the handling on this car. Even with the moon roof open the cabin noise was not even noticable, with it closed it was super quiet inside. The sound system is a surprise as well, pretty decent sound from the factory. The wfe is happy with it the way it is, I will be happy after the Magnaflow, H.I.D.s ,tuner and air box . Although the local dealer ship is run by IDIOTS, and my 10 year old son can do a better job of detailing and prepping a car than they did, We are as happyas could be so far( 146 miles ). I would love to send a picture but I DON'T know how. T

Thats my thoughts about the nav too!

Welcome to the forums and check out Jusnes for the tuner and magnaflow. He is a great person to deal with. I am running his tunes and it made the car run so much better! I highly recommend it! http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php?board=1015.0

Chris (or anyone),
Isn't there a monthly fee associated with navigation systems? Boz

Hi Boz. No, there is no monthly fee for the Nav system. On the Fusion, it is a DVD based system. Perhaps you are thinking of the subscription fee for the Sirius radio?

So what's the deal? Do you buy DVDs to "play" in it according to where you live? I don't understand how, or why, this works better than a map. I also think Sirius and XM radio options are a waste of money, both the initial purchase price and the subscription.

With a 6 CD player we can listen to any kind of music, or favorite artist, any time we want for as long as we want. When it comes to FM, I actually enjoy some commercials and the breaks for local news, weather and sports. It's bad enough that I have to pay for cable TV. I'm not going to compound the fracture by paying for subscription radio when we are only in the car for 30 minutes total a day. Boz, a curmudgeon in Salisbury, MD.

The NAV system has many advantages over a map. It can find and route to POIs(points of interest) like gas stations, restaurants, shopping, etc. This is all done in real time. It's also nice to be able to look ahead if you are on a trip. The Ford system uses one DVD for North America.

Sirius is another one of those things like cable TV was back when I was growing up. Nobody NEEDS it but it's worthwhile for some people. I personally love SAT radio. I have both XM and Sirius. It is well worth it to me not to have to buy CDs and then deal with transporting them. I also don't have to keep up with the current hits unless I really like a song. At that point I just purchase it in iTunes and load it on my IPOD. This allows me to only buy the songs I like vs the entire album.

So, to each their own.

Hi Boz. I think your MPG problems are really beginning to make you grouchy :dhl:!
However, that is the great thing about living in America! We can option out our cars however we would like, and waste our money however we see fit.
Now, don't get me wrong, I agree with you in principal. I did not get the NAV system (The older I get, the more I like not knowing where the heck I am sometimes :sarc:), or Sirius Radio (like you, I feel between radio and CD's I can find something that I like, without the added cost :jimmyt:) on my MKZ. But I would fight for the rights of anyone to do... :blah:!
Anyways, I sure hope your MPG's start coming up real soon, so the good old happy Boz that we know and love comes back! :klavergreg:
Good luck Boz!

PS - Hope you know I am writing this all in good fun!

bbf2530,
I really do like people with a keen sense of humor and you have demonstrated one. Being a 1-month-old SEL AWD Fusion owner, I should be happier than a pig in mud. Instead the mpg issue has turned me into a grouch. :) Maybe seeing a few new product-oriented Fusion ads -- whenever FoMoCo gets around to it -- would cheer me up. LOL.
Boz, hoping for better mileage in Salisbury (Smallsberry), MD.
