Your price is $100 more than MSRP???
Hmmm, I show that MSRP is $695.00. I will double check with Cobb.

Where did you see it for $595.00?

Granted it was an estimated price, but we haven't heard anything to the contrary so far...

After speaking with a co-worker we believe that Cobb raised the price on them for whatever reason. I am waiting for Cobb to get back to me to confirm the pricing and I'll post up once I hear from them.
Well, with the price of raw materials skyrocketing I wouldn't be surprised. Thanks for checking it out for us!

Just heard from COBB, the price of manufacturing the downpipe went up from what their original estimate was so the $695.00 MSRP is accurate.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Tanner
Dynos should be similar, if not identical, to the catted CPE downpipe. I'm too lazy but you can do a search for cpe dp dyno and you'll come up with some nice results.
Last I heard Josh still wouldn't/couldn't confirm that it wouldn't throw a CEL...

Its okay, i'm sure they product tested it extensively.

Just like their intake....... oh

Um, just like the short shifter.... ah :x

well, i'm sure they tested this one! :(

I'm actually suprised that you didnt try to undercut Rallysport in your first post (if history is any indication to the future). So the pedestal is high indeed.

Dyno's speak louder than words!

I will get in touch with Cobb to see what I can get as far as a dyno sheet for everyone.

There is no guarantee the downpipe will not throw a CEL. Once you start modifying any car with an aftermarket exhaust component you run the risk of throwing a check engine light unfortunately so there is no way to guarantee this won't happen. Cobb's MS3 has yet to throw a check engine light so there shouldn't be any concern there.

As far as their intakes go I believe their first batch was 100% perfect. On the 2nd batch something changed with the injection mold process which caused this batch to be bad. There have been 0 intakes released since then because Cobb wants to ensure they are only releasing the highest quality products. We don't feel that this has been a flaw in the engineering of the product, but a quality control issue that Cobb has done everything in their power to correct.

We have been Cobb dealers since 2005 and have never had an instance where Cobb has not stood behind their products. They are one of the few companies out there that we have seen research product fitment, compatibility, durability and quality before releasing it to the public. They have definitely set the standard in the Subaru community for being one of the highest quality manufactures. We wouldn't expect anything less from them in the Mazda community.

Cobb advised me that they don't have any dyno sheets with just the downpipe installed unfortunately. They already had numerous things done to their car when the downpipe was installed so the dyno sheet wouldn't mean much.

convenient of cobb...
I don't think it is a matter of convenience. Cobb released a number of products prior to their downpipe which were all already installed on their test vehicle. By the time the downpipe was installed, all their other products were already on the car so there was no way at that point to give out an accurate dyno chart.

With almost all turbo vehicles the stock exhaust system is going to be small and restrictive from the factory so putting on a 3" downpipe almost always yields horsepower gains. I personally don't think it is even something that needs to be questioned as to whether or not one will benefit from the product as this has been shown over and over with Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi turbo engines etc..
