Will the stock lug nuts that come on the (S and SE model) steel wheels properly fit/hold the optional SE 16" alloy wheels?

Yes they will fit and work fine, but the steel wheel lugs do not have the caps on them, so they will look ugly.

They don't protrude out as far as the "capped" lugs and because of that, IMO, look better.

You could get some of the Mazda lugs (like on the Mazda 6). They are shorter but still capped, so you could have the best of both.

The wheels I want in 18x8, only come with a 36mm offset. The place I was buying them from told me they wouldn't fit on my car?

Is this true guys? Anyone know the offset for 18's ?

I just recently installed some McGard Wheel Locks on my Daughters Mazda 3 and I did notice the stock lug nuts that came with he 17” Alloys, were of a solid design.
