I have off this week so I got around to installing my Redline Tuning Hood Struts. I think it looks much cleaner without the hood prop. :klavergreg:

Well first off installing these was a test in skill. I had to drill holes in the hood to mount these. One slip and I was making a dent in the hood. I just took my time and turned my cordless drill on low. I walked away from it a few times. Total time may have been 1 to 1 1/2 hrs.

Here is the link where I purchased them from.

I have been wanting to install them for awhile. Now that I have seen them on a fellow forum members car, and they worked out well, I will be installing them asap.

Thanks for the info and pics.

Looks good....I have been thinking of installing some. However, as a technician who has been hit numerous times by falling hoods. I would rather have a prop. My experience has been these things are one of the items most customers will not fix. They never lift the hood so they aren't going to pay $75 to get these replaced. The worst are the ones you think are going to keep the hood up and 10 minutes later WHAM! the hood drops. Either way, looks good.

I had a 91 tbird that I used to own (and work on all the time) The hood struts went dead about a week after i bought it. I never replaced them, I just used the handle off an onld broken shovel to hold it up.

Looks nice i was planning on doing that to my focus, but i do not want to drill into the paint. Those white fusions really look nice! im not into white cars but the fusion color is realy sharp.
