Thanks for the replies!! Yeah I am thinking of 20's. Is that a bad idea? I will post pics once I figure it out. Also, it is Black.. my first black car in like 15 years!! I love it!

Congrats, FusionGirlie...

With a 20 (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is right), you can't possibly get a tire thin enough to offset the increased width of the rim, so you're talking about a larger overall diameter.

This has several effects - first, your speedometer will be off. Second, your odometer will be off. Third, running an extremely thin tire means much harder ride quality. Fourth, the increased diameter may or may not physically fit, and even if it does, it may be prone to bumping. Fifth, most likely you're talking about a considerably heavier wheel, unless you plan on spending a lot of money (and even then, with a 20, you're probably going to be somewhat heavier).

Personally, I wouldn't recommend larger than 18's, but I know there's people on here that do have 19's and 20's, so it isn't that they're impossible to do.

Be very careful with the offset of the wheel you get.

Welcome FusionGirlie and good advice MZ6. I'm sure you can find some to fit, but 20s on a 4 cyl don't sound like a good idea to me. Way to much weight, which will kill you mileage and performance, not to mention stiff ride. But they will definitely look good. I still have the factory 17s, but I think 18s would work without to much downside.

Hey! welcome 20's!?? wow! I just want to get new 17" on my Fusion and I'll be happy.. by the way I saw a Red Fusion SEL v6, an 07 yesterday with 18" new tires and custom wheels. Looked really sharp. The guy looked at me an nodded.. Kind of a Fusion owner thing I guess... :p

Hey Girlie,

Welcome to FCC! Save money on wheels and go with an exhausts. Magnaflo has a good one I hear and I will be going that way.

Hi there! I want to put in an exhaust but being a 4 cyl it may sound funny.. I had a Mustang GT that sounded great with the Magnaflow. But that was a gas guzzling V8. What do you think? Do they make them where they are not loud but give some performance?
