Being a Ranger owner since 1989, I am disappointed with Ford dropping the Ranger in the USA. However, I am not very excited about the styling of the new World Ranger. The interior is fine but much of the exterior leaves me cold. I plan to keep my 2002 Ranger FX4 for many years and when I hit 300,000 miles I will have to make a decision of what I want to do next.

I do like the safety rating of the new 2012 Ranger.

I like the new one, except for the fender vents. Not everyone wants a huge truck. However, most of the new full-sized engines get better MPG than the top V6 offerings in the mid-compact size. Bring the Ranger here. Drop the 3.7 in it. Problem solved.

What I've heard from the Ford rep here is that the Ranger is done. The replacement is the F100 with optional full crew cab like the pics of Euro Ranger. That is needed from a sales perspective. The Super cab is useless and outdated. I like what I am seeing!

The F100 is the Ranger. Its just a different name for the same thing.
