But, then when you get the Black Bhrome, the SEL guys are stuck with regular chrome belt-line moldings and trunk-lid moulding.

Got one on order from Ford, should have them tomorrow. I have not found any photos of it yet, that's why I had to order them.

Is it just me or does spending $500 to change the color of the grille seem like a waste of money?

How much were your wheels and tires?

I would contact my local ppg dealer.  I'm sure they have a translucent paint that will give the same effect when properly applied!! I did that with my SE's simulated carbon fiber center dash trim.  Now it looks like blue cabon fiber!! Even then what good does it do you to change the grille color when you can not get your other chrome accents to match.  It would look like s**t having a black chrome grille with standard chrome head and taillights!!   You could be a real pimp and make it gold!!  On the real if you looking for custom try a billet grille there for sale on e-bay everyday!  the problem with the billet gilles is to this point, is that out of the ones I've seen so far none of them conform to the body lines in the hood like the mesh grilles, or stock.  For example the ice edition grille you can see the angle break to the outsides of the grille to 45 degrees. I don't want to loose my hood lines in the grille!!!!!!!!!!!  Someone needs to make a good billet grille out of thicker stock and conform to the body lines!!!
