Hello all. I just picked up my Fusion last night, pretty much an impulse buy. Previously I had a 2002 SVT Focus (CAI, ORP, Fidanza flywheel, CM clutch, Mac motor mounts, 65mm throttle body, MSD coil/wires, blah blah blah), and it broke constantly.

I didn't really want the Tungsten color, but it was the only v6 with leather that the car lot had. I don't plan to mod this car performance wise, aside from maybe a CAI or shortram to give the car a little more tone.
As for the exterior, I'd like to eventually lower the car 1"-1.5" and throw on some 18's, probably a mesh style wheel like the Racing Hart C2's. I'd also like to either tint the taillights or put on some Milan taillights (I assume they fit?) because I'm definitely not a big fan of the chrome tails.

I realize that my resistance to motor modifications probably won't last too long, but if(when) I do decide to add to it, I'll keep it pretty mild (I/H/E/Tune)

However, for knowledge sake, are there any simple or great bang for the buck mods for these cars? (other than the airbox tube removal, haha)

congrats...

good move trading in the SVT. my mom had one and in the 3 years/22,000 miles she had it the interior was out, the motor was out, the tranny was rebuilt, the clutch was replaced (she isnt tough on them, she drives trucks for a living), the blower fan was replaced, the front bumper and rear hatch area had to be repainted... that thing had mor probs then it was worth. But it was a ton of fun to drive.

And the Milan tail lights will NOT fit. they are completely different.

My SVT was a trouble maker too. 4 Clutches, 1 Tranniy, 2 flywheels, 2 starters, 2 radiator hoses, 1 alternator, 1 wheel speed sensor, and both rear lower control arms...in 62,000 miles in 4 years. It dyno'd 167/141 with intake and ORP though...bastard car, haha.

As for the taillights; are there any other taillight options? Or should I just plan to tint the stockers?

Hah, I'll be another owner with an SVT Focus. I had a 2002 in Sonic Blue and was the first reported owner with the whole flywheel-clutch drama. Had the dealer buy back the car, basically. It blew on my mother and I while leaving WalMart in january in Washington DC in sub-freezing temps. Bullshit. Other than that, it was an awesome little car. Noting made me smile quite like it. I had the VF-Engineering Motor Mounts, AEM Long Tube CAI, custom dual exhaust with magnaflow dual-wall tips and that was about it.
