NEED SOME TIRE HELP....IF I SWITCH FROM MY STOCK 16" TO THE STOCK FORD 17"....

Will there be any issues as far as the lugs not matching up, or having to re-program anything? Please talk to me like a dunce with this if you must. I can install trannys and re-build engines but I don't know squat about tires? Odd, I know. :klavergreg:

From what i know there will be no problems for matching lugs. However even though it is only an inch of diffrence you should update your computer.

Well, if you are going from stock 16's to the stock 17's, I believe that the tire/wheel combo is gonna equal out to the same size, right?

STOCK 16's = 25.685 Total diameter

STOCK 17's = 25.858 Total diameter

My 18's = 25.972 Total diameter (225/45/18)

I don't think there is anything different in the computer, the tires are close enough in overall diameter you won't notice.

There is a difference in the steering rack though, the 16in equipped cars have a couple MMs more travel in the gear which allows the tire to turn a little more at the ends. The only time you could ever have a problem though is if you're turning at full lock, and hit a curb while driving with snow chains. So don't sweat it. Everything else in the suspension is exactly the same.
