I'll try to give as many details as I possibly can.

Car is an 06 with 160k. Water pump went, I stopped driving and shut the car off as soon as I noticed the temp Guage go above normal. Changed out the thermostat as well to be safe.

Car ran fine for a few months, then I got the flashing wrench light, and lowered power. Googled around, swapped out the plugs and coils, and also had the Pcm tested. Pcm was good. As soon as I started the car and gave it some gas, wrench light came back on.

After some more googling, it seems the throttle body could be the culprit. Thing is, the throttle body looks shiny and new. When changing the plugs/coils, I did notice that there was what appeared to be a little bit of engine oil leaking from the throttle body. Maybe that is significant?

Also, I have a scanner, but I can not read the codes from the obd port for some reason. My scanner will power up, but not communicate with the car. Could that be significant also?

What can I try next?

To add: oil seems fine. Level is good, no gas/water/metal shavings in the oil. I also cleaned up the ground point because it looked a little haggard. Just trying to rule out what I can.

I don't know if it's some parts inside, there are some problems.
