Well I called to see how much this would cost since they are located in my neighborhood. 6k to 7k dollars. I plan to do it to either my Zephyr or a MKZ in the spring/summer. That is all. HP jumps to 330-350 depending on the engine.

Re: MRT's turbo kit for the 3.0 and 3.5

A little steep, but I guess you can charge a premium if it's a quality product and the only kit on the market. Good news for those single guys who control their own purse strings ;)

by the way, they told me they were looking for a 5 speed to play with Forced induction wise. You may want to hit them up or stop by if you car about looking into turbocharging your ride.

OK, I called a Garrett Supercharger company and they told me that there was no Garrett Supercharger for the Fusion. The MRT Charger is a Garrett Charger, yet Garrett and their suppliers know nothing about it?

I was kind of put out by that - of course the guy told me "if you give me a laundry list of parts that you would need, I could shoot you a quote".....umm...sure....like I know everything about superchargers!

So, I guess this is something available through MRT, not Garrett?

I think i will wait until steeda or someone else mass produces one for half that amount.
[/quote]

Will never happen. The market for such performance parts for the Fusion is too small, it's no Civic, Neon, etc.

Steeda probably wouldn't be able to sell a kit for less than $4-5k, which is reasonable if you price quality kits for most other cars.

:shock:6K damn that is a lot of cash for less than 100hp. I think i will wait until steeda or someone else mass produces one for half that amount.

Well you have a 4cyl so its kinda irrelevant. but for a V6, its a fair price. You are looking at a turbo V6 with intercooler installed and tuned ready to drive. Go look up other V6 turbo kits for other cars and tell me how much they cost(without installation). Also, you get more than 100hp. It jumps from 221 to 325 on the 3.0. thats pretty significant.

there selling the one for the focus for $3100 and the 4 cyl in the fusion is not much diff. So i am keeping my fingers crossed it will be around the same price.

Ah, didn't factor that in. That is a good point, although it does nothing for our V6 brethren :)

ya i know sorry. i hope a turbo or supercharger kit does come out for both motors just not sure if the demand is there for some company to spend that much time and money in research. sucks but we will have to wait and see waht happens.

You could remote mount turbo the I4 or V6 for anything around $1,500 - $3,500 depending on how far you wanted to take it, and your power gains you are looking to make. Its a very simple concept to do.

I was thinking about the STS system i know they are making good power on mustang, vettes and other cars like that but the turbo lag in a 4 banger would be bad. A V8 has all the Tq to get it off the line before the turbo starts to spool but the 4 cyl does not have anything. The V6 may work well with one of there low boost twin turbo setups that swap out both mufflers. would be cool to see. i have also heard a few stories of people getting the turbo stolen off the car. all they need is a ratchet and about 5 mins and it is gone.

i've already talked to dan a few times about it. he told me they'd have one released in january and that they'd call me for my car.

thats assuming that hes being honest and just saying that. but yeah, i live... less then a mile down the street.
