Its all 3309. Most people go for the new Amsoil Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid. Its a bit pricey, but the results have been pretty good with other 3309 required trannies.

Crystallas,

Would you happen to know what fluid Ford puts in our G5M manual transaxle? It shifts better then the nice shifting G5M I had in my '99 Escort ZX2 which had premium syns fluids (Redline D4ATF then Specialty Formulations MTL-P).

Yes I do know, this G5M uses Motorcraft SAE 75W-90 Premium Gear Oil is the stock fluid(its not even the fully synthetic.) Some Medline MT-90(PN: 50304) will suit well, and that is what I intend on running when I get around to a fluid change.

Great prices. Summit has it for $1 more, and most local shops sell it for around $10. I think Im going to change the fluid at 15k miles on my car. These trannys are very good, but if there is one thing that I hate working on, its transmissions, and I want to prevent any major work until I know exactly what kind of gears I want to swap in.
