The MazdaSpeed6 is nothing like the Mazda6 though (im not talkinga bout asthetics).....and the engine is for future tests for other vehicles and so is the AWD. This is a completely different beast that you really can't even compare to the 6.

Um... the platform is the same (just strengthened a bit), the engine is the same (just direct injected instead of port injected), the AWD system is the standard Ford/Volvo Haldex system, all the interior and exterior materials and such are the same or similar... what exaclty is different about it?

I pisses me off too. Especially with Mazda and the MS vehicles. They wonder why there are still MS Miatas on the lot? Maybe because the design is already dated and people want the new model. I would take the new '06 MX-5 over the '05 MS Miata.

wherer is the 6 made?

For the US & Canada, Michigan at the AAI (AutoAlliance International) plant, I forget where that is offhand. Same plant that made the MX-6/Probe, among others.

For the international market, Japan (Hiroshima, I want to say? But that might be the 3), and for the Chinese market, China.
