I am still trying to put together my system for my 06 Milan. I have a Pioneer 600w 2 channel amp and a 12" Alpine sub in a ported box. I want to get 6x8"s for the front doors and another amp to power them. Any sugestions for an amp? I would like to keep the headunit stock. Will I still get a loud clear sound from the stock 6cd indash headunit if I power the new 6x8"s with an amp? Or should I start looking into headunits?

MTX

I love these amps and swear by them. Four vehicles with nothing but MTX amps and I have yet to have one problem (knock on wood). Plenty powerful and great sound. For your specific application, the Thunder 202 MTX amp would work beautifully.

Keep the stock H/U and read what I said about them (do a search). To get the best sound; you will need a high quality LOC like:

I have the NE-774V; and it is considered by many audiophiles as the best LOC in the world. Please by a decent LOC and don't skimp on one. And read how to adjust them as well.

Amps wise; you need a nice 2 channel amp with around 50-100 W RMS per channel. Just stay away from anything sony and audiobahn. Cheap and reliable amps are Kenwood, Hifonics, and Profile. Good amp brands are Kicker, Alpine, MTX, Infinity/JBL, pioneer, and Rockford Fostgate (punch). All the previous are good quality reliable nice sounding amps. The better ones ( higher sound quality; use only on $300+ components) are Boston, JL, Rockford (Power), Arc Karr, memphis, Polk, DLS, Zapco, and Higher end Alpine/ Kicker.

Good places to buy are crutchfield and http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm

Good Luck
