I Purchased an I-4 Premier Milan Manual. The shift knob on it is fading after 10,000 miles. It is wearing down from normal use. I am a guy so no creams or lotions on my hands. I work in surgery washing my hands 6-10 times a day. If anything they are very clean. I am getting a new one from the dealer covered by warranty. Is anyone else with manual models experiencing this? I had a civic with a plastic one, not leather like now, that lasted 7 years.

No wear on mine at 20,000+ miles.

I'm a guy and use lotion on my hands all the time....dry skin sucks in the cold.

I'm an OCD hand washer so I know my hands are clean (40+ times a day ) That said, I will never own a car with a leather steering wheel/knob if I can help it. They wear out very quick. My mom's 98 Taurus has a leather steering wheel that has become very slick with age and seems to have gotten smaller over time. The stitching is sticking out. My knob is the plastic one and have zero signs of wear.
