Has anyone replaced thier tail/brake light bulbs with LED bulbs.

I am interested in doing this, is it as simple as just replacing the bulb with an LED bulb.

Any input would be great.

Thanks

It's commonly done, but the LED's do not shine and disburse throughout the housing for reflection...it's dangerous unless it's either designed for it, or you modify the LED's with sanding the tips.

Our turn signal bulbs run on higher power then LED diodes. The LED diodes require less power. So if you install them, your lights will flick really fast. So you are going to have to install a resister to it so the signals wil flash normal. And that resister can get really hot, and if you put that resister in the wrong place and the wrong way. You are looking at new wire harness or you can cause a fire.

You can do it, but you just have to know how.
