IMO, yes it is. I spent $42.95 shipped for mine at autoanything.com
My best MPG before the filter was about 28mpg, Yesterday it hit 38mpg!!!

It's worth it, buy one!!!

Alright but when should I put it in? How long till the current filter needs changing?

I would recommend just changing as soon as you get your hands on a K&N. The stock filter is very restrictive

why did ford put such a poor filter in when these can be had for such a little amount of money? How often will I need to clean this and such? Will it void my warranty or cause me any trouble with my car?

I went ahead and ordered one, can't wait to get it and see if it makes a difference. You say it adds up to 10mpg but how about acceleration?

If you see 10mpg I will be surprised. My mpg may have improved 1-2. 10 seems way out there

I agree 10 is a bit much. that probably had something to do with the computer or driving if it was 10 mpg. You should see some improved throttle response also.

also, does it give any added horsepower?

That has always been a debate on other car forums I have been on. If this does ad HP it is probably so little.

You may gain one or two horsepower and one or two miles per gallon, if you are lucky. They usually don't do much. One reason that OE suppliers don't use them is because they allow more dirt and dust into your engine than a paper filter will, thus raising the possibility of engine issues over time.

Some people report issues with K&N filters. But usually it's because they are over or under oiled and not properly maintained.

Nope, but if makes ya feel good then go for it. Keep in mind that oiled cotton gauze simply doesn't trap as much dirt as a traditional paper filter.

I filled my tank today and while I was driving on the highway, I was at 48mpg.
