Eibach coils and a Progress suspension rear swaybar will be here later this week. Pics and review of ride/handling to come.  :D

Could I get some information about the rear bar, when you install the new one you'll find out the stock bar is a joke.

Thanks, Marc

It's actually a bar for the Mazda 6. There are 3 different bars available, one(I can't remember the brand) is 22mm, the progress bar is 24mm, and the Racing Beat bar is 27mm. I figure the 27mm bar might be a bit much, since the stocker is only 16mm, so I went with the 24mm.

Wasn't the frame and stuff stretched from the Mazda6 to accomodate the Fusion?

I don't know about the frame, but the suspension is the same, just differently tuned. To verify that the bar would work, I had one of the Mazda6 club guys measure his, and then I measured mine. The the same dimensions, just the Fusion bar is smaller diameter.

So the 24mm would be a big difference over the stock one?

I think I will grab the 24mm.

How was the install?

Do you need a lift to do it?

Will you swap the sway bar before you put your Eibach's on? I wonder how stiff the rear will be with the larger bar plus the lowering springs?

The only difference is that the floorpan underneath the driver's seat was stretched about 2 inches. The change in width was accomplished with only the offset on the wheels. So really the only chassis parts that are not interchangeable are exhaust, brake and fuel lines, because they will be too short.

Waldo,
Sounds like you have the insiders technical information for design and application, am I assuming correctly ? If I'm to understand what you're saying about suspension conponents between the 6 and the Fusion, then one could use lets say Strut Tower Braces, performance brakes, anti roll bars, etc. as long as it doesn't include items that involve length in the floor pan.

Suspension pieces from the 6 like springs, shocks, and swaybars will work with the Fusion, but I'm not so sure about brakes. EBC lists different part #s for the Fusion and the 6. Also, they changed the brakes in the 6 for the 2006 model year, so they MAY be the same now.

Personally I'm gonna use EBC rotors and pads since they list part #s specifically for the Fusion.
