I had my mechanic install the Progress Technology Rear Anti-Sway Stabilizer Bar on my fusion today and without a car lift, it would have been a real bitch.

My mechanic noted that the washers that are welded onto the new bar cause the rubber bushings to be crammed under the bar bracket into the washers.

The original 16mm bar didnt have any washers welded to it.

He felt that it would spit the rubber bushing eventually.

I said fuck it and told him to leave it and see how it goes.

My drive home from his shop didnt have to many turns on it, so I couldnt really tell a difference. It seemed a little stiffer, but I cant tell.

I will give it a real run over the next few days.

Has anyone else bought one and had it installed?

Was there an issue with the bracket/washer/rubber?

It was only $140 for the bar.

As for the installation I am a computer consultant (I fix computers) and my mechanic is one of my clients and we trade work for work.

If you cant afford something, get a better job!!!

I just installed the Racing Beat bar this morning. It took less than an hour from the time I walked into the garage, to having everything put up and taking a test drive. Pics to come later today.

I installed it in the garage. Pretty simple install.

The Racing Beat bar comes with poly bushings, no rubber.

Yes, it's a 27mm bar.

Front swaybar should work, but I can't verify that yet.

The strut tower brace is a waste of time. The towers are close enough to the firewall that your not gonna notice a difference.
