hi guys

i was just reading the forum update news over at mazda3forums.com and it got me wondering if this new ford fusion is a take on the holden vectra, designed by opel ( both GM companies )

Interesting.

I think it's a bit early to start judging that though. What i mean is, it's a disguised photo, but even more than that hte car is still over a year away from release - a lot could change.

But yeah it does seem to have some similarities!

Of course, nothing in common in reality... as you say, Holden is GM

maybe this car will be accompanied by an announcement that GM and Ford are joining forces :shock: and soon we will all only have one choice of car and it will come in any colour as long as it's black! :twisted:

and somewhere six feet under, henry ford is tapping his fingers "eeexcelleent"

I'm sorry all I see that is similar is the front fender flare to the head lights that's all. Roofline is different, rear is totall different, side is different. Also I would say it's GM's take on the 427 hehe :twisted:

I think the headlights are the only really strinking similarity... I think this car takes cues from a lot of automakers including Infinity (shape of the nose), Honda (interior and tail lights), Mazda (driving lights), Acura (the stance and size of the car as well as the shape of the rear). I think that's a good thing. They needed to catch up in their design strategy.

Looks good. I would say if GM and Ford are to compete, the New Saturn Aura is going to give the Fusion a run for its money. I saw it at the CA Int. Auto Show last month and it is one bad ass looking car.

Yeah I saw the Aura at the Detroit Auto Show back in January, it's definitely looking nice.

Well they are going to tone down the fender flares on the Aura. I seen the spy photos. Looks likea G6 sedan.

I definitely think the fender flares and the 19 in wheels make it look better, but still, not bad. I actually think the G6 coupe is a great looking car. I sat in a Torrent yesterday and was pleasently suprised at the quality. It wasn't great, but better. Anything has to be better than the Aztec.
