Why the heck didn't FORD put the Carbon Fiber trim just above the glove box on that strip on the dash and on either side of the steering wheel??
It would have looked great and matched the Carbon Fiber trim thats by the radio on the SE model.
I checked with the dealer to see if I could buy the other pieces and he said they wern't available.......hate to pay $200 or $300 for a complete new interior trim kit if I don't have too, and somtimes it's hard to match Carbon Fiber.

Anyone have any ideas??

I'm confused on mine... Since my interior is a gray/tan color, the CF radio trim sticks out. I'm not sure if I should continue with the CF look. But if you buy a dash kit, they do come with a CF piece to recover the radio so it'll match the other pieces.

I just don't know if I can justify spending a few hundred dollars on a dash kit.

I ordered the silver dash trim (3 psc.) from the Milan on my dash, the only prob was that the trim has prongs that go into the dash panel, obviously not there on the fusion. So I carefully used a dremel or small grinder to cut the prongs off and make a smooth surface then used 3M double stick tape to install them, great fit and you can never see the tape...

My dealer added a woodgrain kit free and it covered everything even the radio. Only thing is the strips over glove box and behind steering wheel dont completely cover the silver dash the Milans come with. Im not sure hwo the Fusions are but watch out for that when adding kits. As for me i love it regardless of the tiny imperfections. Gives the car a more classy appreance.

That's unusual. I'm sure your dealer hid the cost of your kit somewhere in with the price of the car. Dealers very rarely give you something for nothing.

We had the CF trim on our old SE, and I didn't really notice it. I guess I never paid attention to it.

The Milan was offered online with a free woodgrain trim option. When i showed this to the salesperson, he said he would put it on at no cost per what it said online. A few months later i referred a friend there and when he charged her for the same woodgrain i had gotten he confessed he messed up not charging me. By then all the paperwork had been signed and they had to eat the cost. I did wonder why it tool almost two months to find an "apropriate time" for me to bring in the car. He had realized he or the dealer had to pay for it. I am not sure how to upload the pics i have. I tried uploading the pics to as an attachment but with no success.

Have been researching dash kits, I don't like the very faux carbon fiber on my 06 Fusion SE dash. If it looked real I would kind of like it, but it is insultingly fake looking to me.

One thing about this, is that it looks like all Milans have the analog clock, anyone know about this for sure?
My Fusion is a SE so it has the "Fusion" badge instead of the clock. I am guessing it would be possible to switch to the clock style center trim (clock included), but I bet it would be expensive at OEM prices, plus the wiring is probably wrong. I, as I am sure many others are, am worried about getting a dash kit then being diasppointed by quality, fit, looks, etc. Has anyone else done the Milan swap and know the costs, problems?

I wish my piano black trim was more black, darker! Its not dark/black enough. I'd almost like to have a nice carbon fiber kit in my car.

You know, that's a really good point. In all other configurations (Piano Black or Woodgrain on the SEL's and brushed aluminum on the SAP packages), it's all four pieces, and they all match nicely. You'd think they would have done the same with the CF look, too. Go figure. :eek:ops2:

I just asked this question to my dealer about ordering the silver trim from the SAP, and he wrote down the part number for the radio console (which is $86.87, might I add):

7E5Z 5404302 CA

I searched online and couldn't find anything.
