What are we going to do with Senior members/moderators that no longer are active in the forum?

Since I got my new job and sold my Mazda, I'm working 60 hours a week and hardly post on any forums.  I like my special status to separate me from the crowd, but I realize that I'm not as active as a senior member should be.  Alas I fear I'll never break the 1000 post mark, especially since I've grown tired of having the same arguements over and over with teenagers and stubborn 40 year olds.

How about a "Retired Senior Member"? Or do we even care since it really doesn't affect much? I'd be sad to lose my status, but I understand if it's best for the forum.

I vote that it should be like being on the supreme court... position for life, unless you get impeached for being bad. Though you may not be with us a lot anymore, the title and recognition should still be there. Another parallel to the court, actually! :lol: Rhenquist wasn't really 100% around at the end but he was still there! ;-)

Yeah I feel kind of bad about not being around at all.....and the ironic part is that I started coming here less and less shortly after becoming a SM. And in recent months ive barely been on the forums.

Hmmm, apparently you all didn't read the fine print about how Mz6ZoomZoom owns your soul after you become a SM.

But, still, you get SM because of what you did.... whether or not you continue to post isn't going to make that prior status go away.

I guess it's time to add a new SM here soon

This excludes members who used to be SM and then became mods. So most SMs still come to M3F - so I don't think it's an issue BVMazda3 did some stuff to help out from the BCMazda3 forums... I just think he spends most of his time over there.

i've had the same problem you've been having blitz about not being around as much as i use to be--but i try and make an appearence when i can--the "real world" just gets to much in the way sometimes

My main reason for not posting as much is because I'm a VERY impatient person. M3F's has increasingly become slower and slower over the last few months for me to browse, so that tends to drive me away (haha...pun intended).

Also, much of my time lately has been spent on my rekindled love of photography (after my purchase of a Canon 350D), so I've become slightly addicted to a Canon photography forum as well as a Photoshop forum. Add to that it's college hoops season (Go Michigan State!) and my browsing time here becomes quite limited.

I'd love to be here more often, but I just get so damn frustrated when it takes a long time for a thread to load after I've clicked on a link.

I think we've got some server issues sorted out.... is it still slow for you JT?

It still has its moments. It appears to be moving a little faster, but just a moment ago i replied to you in another thread and it took about 10 seconds to open up the reply window after I clicked "reply", and then after I composed the reply, another 20 seconds went by after I clicked "post" until it actually posted. It's like it gets hung up on something. The media section can be painstakingly slow sometimes, too.

For this reply, it opened up immediately, so I would have to say it's still pretty inconsistent.

I find the problems still happen occassionally, but in general they've gotten much rarer.

Regardless, as of this weekend (or whenever I can) it should no longer be an issue (in other words, the move to the new server).

Am i the SM with the fewest amount of posts? Well, that's 'cuz 500 or so of my posts were gone (remember fall 2004?).

I don't post as much, but i do come here every now and again... and stripping me of the SM status would hurt my ego.
