I feel your frustration, I'm a member of the Corvette Forum and Mazda Miata forums and have asked a few questions on this one too. And I see the key to the problem as a lack of R&D into the after market parts segment or at least a slow start. With the platform I would have expected those involved with Mazda 3 and 6 would have come up with quick revisions to existing performance parts for example cold air intakes, exhaust and performance modules. And lets please not just concern ourselves with the V-6 models, plenty of power can be made from the 4 cylinder model but as I've found from some in the Corvette forum, unless your driving a 69 StingRay with a 396/425hp your not worth bothering with. Well my L-82 puts out 407 at the flywheel and 313 to the ground and I still don't rank with the purist. To them I have the one fingered salute, lets not make this forum into the same type of exclussive V-6 members only club.
I've already fabricated a cold air intake for my 4 cylinder Fusion and currently doing homework on an exhaust system. This is too nice of a car with either engine not to get going on making it a great car.
